For our Megadyne and AMMEGA Finance team, we are currently looking for a Plant Controller. Full benefits on day 1 + 401(k) after a month.

Plant Controller

As a Plant Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that costs for the company's products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with financial accounting standards. The Plant Controller will perform professional work requiring the evaluation of acceptable cost of products and use of concepts, theories, practices, and terminology of accounting as well as familiarity with GAAP and IFRS. The incumbent will manage the cost accounting closing functions on a daily and weekly basis to assist in developing and analyzing general ledger preparation, distribution, and KPI's as part of the reporting process, along with facilitating data transparency and financial gap analysis. Assist in month-end, year-end, and audit activities; handling the overflow of work in any functions as business requires. You will report to the Head of Finance and be part of the Finance team. This position works on a team of about 8 people. Key stakeholders include Plant Manager, CFO, Production Manager, Materials Manager and Finance Team Colleagues. In this role, you will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Our colleagues like one another, so this is 100% in-person, in-office role, with travel to Buford, GA approximately 2 weeks per quarter.

A day in the life of a Plant Controller can look like



  • Develop cost standards for materials and labor.
  • Design and implement cost accounting systems.
  • Analyze production costs and recommend changes
  • Oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventories
  • Hire, train and supervise cost and accounting staff
  • Ensure the accurate cost of production to material costs, wages, and overhead costs
  • Assist in the estimate of costs for unique products to establish prices of products and to forecast production
  • Contribute to discussions and reviews conducted during management meetings
  • Formulate goals, KPI's and assessments on a periodic basis, in a timely manner
  • Prepare, devise, and regulate procedures for establishing unit cost of services and products
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Prepare and/or post month-end AJE's and /or standard accruals to meet anticipated liabilities
  • Recommend changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profits
  • Assist with accounting for international and domestic purchases including duties, brokerage and freight
  • Assist Controller with the completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end reports
  • Assist with PBC's for Year end and Interim Audits



We are looking for you to offer the following



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 to 7+ years cost accounting experience required, CPA or CMA preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Highly proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Accounting software experience a plus, i.e. Microsoft Dynamics and Business Intelligence (BI)
