Job Description:

As the Detachment Engineer, you will be responsibilities for tracking the execution of Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWPs), coordinating the execution of Mandatory Technical Requirements with Regional Maintenance Center Project Managers and Assessment Directors as well as primary interface with TYCOM Port Engineer in support of Availability Work Package planning for assigned ships. To be successful, you have extensive experience in U. S. Navy ship depot-level maintenance planning functions and U. S. Navy ship operations. Additionally, you will need to have regional maintenance center or repair planning engineering experience. The preceding description lists minimum requirements, additional duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active Security Clearance level Secret
  • A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in U. S. Navy ship depot-level maintenance planning with an emphasis on BAWP and TYCOM Availability Work Package planning
  • Able to travel up to 10 % of the time, domestically
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience supporting ship maintenance planning
  • Knowledge and experience supporting TYCOM Port Engineer, Navy Planning Yard, or Regional Maintenance Center


Preferred (examples):



  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • TYCOM staff experience
  • Detachment Engineer


JSL Work Environment:

M-F, 5/40 work schedule, Job will be located onsite

Security Clearance:

Applicants may be required to have an active DoD security clearance at the time of hire or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance once hired.
