Job Description:

The essential functions of the structural engineer role include but are not limited to



  • Provides design stress sizing for primary and secondary structures.
  • Researches, develops, designs, tests, documents, and recommends solutions to engineering mechanical/composite components and assemblies
  • Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
  • Performs structural analysis of a wide variety of designs and materials including both composites and metals. The analysis includes but is not limited to static, dynamic, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
  • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.


Minimum Qualifications



  • B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline with ABET accreditation (Mechanical, Aerospace, or applicable equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in aerospace structural design
  • Experience analyzing primary and secondary structures made from bonded composites
  • Experience in industry structural analysis methods and documentation
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance as well as a Program security access


Preferred Qualifications



  • 2+ years' Aerospace structural analysis experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, or FEMAP.


  • Active DoD Secret clearance



Work Conditions

The job will be completed mostly in an enclosed office environment. Occasional local travel will be required and/or alternate work sites. The physical requirements are to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and lift to 50 lbs. unassisted. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, travel requirement is 15-20%

Security Clearance:

Applicants may be required to have an active DoD security clearance at the time of hire or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance once hired.
