Membership Development Officer

Description

The individual who excels in this position is a person who can cultivate relationships with members and potential members and promotes understanding of Credit Union products and services. This means developing and managing relationships within local government, marketing Credit Union products and services, and providing information to county/municipal departments in the territory and counties surrounding. Due to the travel required for this position, the candidate must live within one of the counties in the territory.

Territories include: Randolph, Chatham, Lee, Moore, Montgomery, Stanly, Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland and Hoke.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Develops a calling/business plan to attract and retain members in the Southeastern NC territory.
  2. Develops connections with local government contacts to attract, retain, and promote LGFCU products and services.
  3. Cultivates relationships with relevant community organizations.
  4. Represents LGFCU at state wide conferences that are relevant to local government.
  5. Promotes and educates members and potential members on products and services at fairs, conferences, events and meetings.
  6. Establishes and develops relationships with SECU branch staff in the assigned regional territory.
  7. Recruits and recommends Advisory Council members.
  8. Serves as the primary contact for Advisory Council members. Delivers Advisory Council members' materials.
  9. Conducts regional Advisory Council meetings. Generates meeting notes.
  10. Keeps management informed by submitting monthly reports and maintaining a schedule in Outlook Calendar.

Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.

  1. Minimum one to three years' of experience in business development, sales, marketing or local government.
  2. Up to 80% in-state travel is required, which includes overnight and weekends.
  3. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Must possess strong customer service skills.
  5. PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.
  6. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  7. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).

Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE you to have to make you more suited for this position.

  1. BA/BS in in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related experience is preferred.
  2. Financial Services, marketing or sales experience a plus.
