Job Description:
We are looking for a Manager with a strong technical background to lead the team of highly skilled software engineers to help us deliver machine learning algorithms as engineering solutions and build complex DevOps pipelines spanning from cloud to mainframe. It's a full-time, non-remote position for our office located in Plano, Texas USA. Expectations:
The candidate must have a sound understanding of Agile process and principles and should be able to engage with architects, product management and senior management to make sure the backlog is in a shape that can be consumed by the engineering team(s) and the team has relevant capacity to deliver software solutions within agreed timelines. Observe and identify the potential gaps in the existing software engineering practices and come up with new and innovative solutions Establish industry best practices of software engineering by coordinating with architects and senior engineers for continuous delivery of bug free software solutions Support, develop and grow a talented team of engineers, providing them direction, guidance and ongoing feedback. Promote accountability and strong sense of ownership among team members, and support them in delivering high-quality work that advances product stability, scale, and technological relevance to customers. Be a significant influence on architecture, design and technology solutions. Advance team skills by working with team members to identify short-and long-term targets, and evaluate performance. Identify talent gaps within the team and take charge of recruiting initiatives. Build strong, collaborative relationships with Product Management, Documentation, Support, and field teams that assist in product adoption. Collaborate with UX teams to ensure high level epic descriptions are well represented by detailed story definitions, UI workflows and mockups. Drive the functional design and on-time delivery of well-engineered features to meet or exceed customers' functionality, product stability, scale, and quality expectations. Communicate on behalf of your team to report on status, mitigate risk, and recognize team achievements.
Skills & experience To qualify for this position, you will have:
Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate must have spent at least 8 years in developing enterprise grade software by adhering to industry best practices of software development and have at least 2 years of experience managing people and software deliveries. Strong grasp of service-based architecture and its principles. Experience providing technical leadership to software engineers. Excellent organization skills and the ability to achieve results within tight deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly with a passion for sharing new ideas. Experience designing in an Agile product development environment and working with large Agile teams. Knowledge of and/or experience with software development using Java and leading front-end technologies, DevOps and cloud-based solutions and service delivery
