Job Responsibilities

Viasat is looking for a creative, bright, and innovative Program Manager to work at the forefront of what makes us successful. This is a unique opportunity to work with our talented engineers developing and supporting technology programs in Viasat's Secure Network Systems business.

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead programs for military and government applications. In this role you will direct the development and delivery phase of programs from inception through completion. The successful candidate will have experience working with a variety of engineering teams (system architects, electrical design, software, mechanical, engineering analysis, special test equipment, integration and test), managing schedule and performance risk, meeting commitments and anticipating and circumventing problems. In addition, you will be developing customer relationships and working effectively with functional areas within the company. You will be leading, directing and motivating cross-discipline teams across multiple organizations and geographic sites.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Program Management as described above

  • Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors as an integral part of the deliverables

  • Monitor and manage the program level milestones, risks, issues and decisions

  • Extensive problem solving skills, and ability to drive resolutions to a close

  • Manage program communications internally to teams and externally to customers

  • Monitor and assess customer satisfaction, quality and profitability

  • Experience with HAIPE (High assurance Internet Protocol Encryption)

  • Experience with encryption/description

  • At least 5 years experience in leading technical teams

  • Organization skills to manage multiple facets of a large-scale project and to track progress for several programs at once

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to interact with all levels in the organization

  • Knowledge of EVMS practices

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Travel up to 25%

  • US Government Programs, US citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferences
  • Experience with space hardware development programs

  • Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies and best practices such as PMP

  • Familiarity with security/cyber technologies and IP networking

  • Experience with leading and writing Government proposals

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $181250 to $292150 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
