Accounting Manager

The Opportunity

Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of the monthly/quarterly/annual closes, work with Teladoc's External Financial Reporting Group, work with Internal Audit, coordination of the audit with External Auditors, E&Y, and adherence with SOX controls compliance. Strong technical accounting skills required (Lease accounting, Capitalized Software Accounting) and ability to understand and research accounting issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all month-end close and general ledger reconciliation processes

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information in accordance with GAAP

  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Key Control Owner for Accounting department SOX controls, including leading ongoing testing and assessments of effectiveness. Coordinate closely with Internal audit.

  • Establish and track key metrics related to the close in order to increase efficiency and drive process improvement

  • Initiate and drive process improvements and systems enhancements for greater accuracy, financial control and efficiency

  • Help coordinate and manage quarterly reviews and annual audit performed by external auditors

  • Review and perform audit analysis and audit support documentation

  • Perform accounting and financial projects as assigned

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

  • Four to Six years accounting experience in general ledger and financial statement preparation.

  • Prior work experience at Big 4 Accounting Firm a plus.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are a must (Vlookups, pivot table, data merging)

  • Ability to communicate analytically with all levels of personal and management.

  • Experience with large financial systems preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Advanced analytical problem solving

  • Proficient with Microsoft suite

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU's, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: . Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
