Lead Specialist, Federal Customer & User Experience Designer

KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Specialist to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Human Centered Design (HCD) user research including but not limited to: user interviews, surveys, usability testing, Voice of the Customer (VoC) interviews, and competitive analysis for gathering and synthesizing data to help ensure the solutions are rooted in user needs and deliver functionality to drive adoption
  • Work with key stakeholders across client organizations to facilitate workshops, ideation sessions and design sprints to gather, develop, and prioritize business requirements, use cases, features and processes across products and services
  • Translate user insights and business requirements into seamless workflows, information architecture, data visualizations, and interactions specifications
  • Lead design of stunning high-fidelity Customer Experience (CX) artifacts including but not limited to customer personas, journey maps, empathy grids, and User Experience (UX) designs, wireframes, prototypes, and 508 compliance design systems
  • Work with highly collaborative teams in an agile, iterative design environment to determine best practices, processes, and standards for delivery of all products and services
  • Develop and nurture relationships as a subject matter expert, collaborating and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team of strategists, designers, developers, and delivery manager, as well as client and internal stakeholders, providing guidance in determining and developing UX best practices, scalable detailed design patterns and solutions for internal team enablement
  • Lead and contribute to our community of Experience Designers and Strategists, providing expertise and ensuring our methods and approach stays at the forefront of our practice

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years experience in: UX design and product thinking, Agile and Lean UX methodologies, interaction design (IxD), UX design, content strategy, usability testing, and CX/HCD research.
  • Bachelors degree from accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated superior knowledge, ability, and comfort with industry-standard and prototyping software including but not limited to: Sketch, Figma, InVision, Abstract, Adobe CC including XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Expert-level proficiency with collaboration and analytics tools and platforms such at Qualtrics, Medallia, Google Analytics, Mural and Miro to showcase strategic to showcase strategic direction
  • Strong strategic project and design portfolio that demonstrates effective problem solving, qualitative and quantitative analysis and linkage to experience and/or business change and ROI with impeccable attention to detail
  • Advanced experience with agile legacy application transformation and modernization with a deep understanding and identification of users' need for functional design.
  • Deep knowledge of Section 508 for Federal compliance across all applications and solutions
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to inspire and educate
  • Ability to work with engineering to create deployable solutions and products
  • U.S. citizenship required with an active U.S. Federal government Secret security clearance preferred
