First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Norfolk General, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team!

SHIFT: Full-Time; M-F 7:30am - 4:30pm; Call Required

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs a wide variety of neurophysiological diagnostic studies in the laboratory, intra-operatively and in the intensive care settings; operates and performs preventative maintenance on complex monitoring instruments; documents all acquired data for interpretation; ensures tests performed are properly ordered, charged and reported; makes independent assessments that may indicate urgent medical interaction.

Travel to other area hospitals is required, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

License and Certification

  • Basic Life Support

Experience

  • 2 or more years of experience in the Neurodiagnostic field which includes 1 years of experience in long-term monitoring for epilepsy.
  • 1 year experience in Neurodiagnostic field in lieu of Trade School
  • Credential in long-term monitoring (CLTM*) or CLTM Eligible. (Meets Job Experience Requirements)

Job Summary

Performs a wide variety of neurophysiological diagnostic studies in the laboratory, intra-operatively and in the intensive care settings with specialization in advanced procedures relating to non-invasive EEG, invasive EEG and other modalities of Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring. Operates and performs preventative maintenance on complex monitoring instruments; documents all acquired data for interpretation; ensures tests performed are properly ordered, charged and reported; makes independent assessments that may indicate urgent medical interaction.

2 or more years of experience in the Neurodiagnostic field which includes 1 years of experience in long-term monitoring for epilepsy.

1 year experience in Neurodiagnostic field in lieu of Trade School

Credential in long-term monitoring (CLTM*) or CLTM Eligible. (Meets Job Experience Requirements)

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate: Medical Technology Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Electroencephalographic Technician (EEG) - Certifications - American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Related experience
