Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Vice President (VP), Human Resources (HR) will act as the key strategic business partner to the Eurest executive team. This change agent will be accountable talent (working with subject matter experts)-the acquisition, development and retention of our associates, optimizing our investment in talent, driving organizational efficiencies, managing employment risk and shaping the culture of this key Compass sector.   The VP, HR has seven direct reports and is responsible for identifying opportunities and influencing to gain a competitive advantage in the areas of talent management and organizational development, ultimately building a new level of organization capability. 

This mission critical role requires a proactive, hands-on approach as an HR business partner to the Eurest leadership team to establish strategic business plans and long-range goals. The successful candidate will be a business savvy change agent with deep and broad experience who builds strong relationships and leverages business and HR expertise to drive results. The location for this role is flexible around major Compass hubs.


The VP, HR will provide HR leadership to the Eurest sector, managing the day-to-day execution of policies and procedures around talent, organizational efficiencies, employment risk and creating a preferred culture.


  • Talent: acquisition, development and retention, collaborating with subject matter experts.
  • Optimize investment around talent; drive organizational efficiencies.
  • Serve as strategic partner to the business, creating and executing plans around HR initiatives to achieve business goals, focusing on labor strategy, job design and mitigation of wage inflation.
  • Proactively support diversity initiatives to enable inclusion to succeed.
  • Create, analyze, and report on key HR metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to employment law legislation.
  • Obtain feedback to drive modifications of corporate initiatives and benefit programs to stay competitive for our operations business partners.


  • Develop and implement annual talent plans, which include acquisition, retention, and development of talent, maximizing labor investment and oversight of risk management.
  • Build relationships with leadership team and associates as a trusted advisor and custodian of the culture.
  • Create efficiencies and streamline HR processes to achieve and/or exceed business goals, leveraging technology and scale.


  • Work closely with HR subject matter experts and other stakeholder functions to develop solutions to meet the sector needs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop HR strategies and initiatives that support business objectives and manage employment risk. Align HR policies, practices, and systems to support the sector's priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Build sector specific talent plan with SVP HR.
  • Support Zones as needed.
  • Represent company during sales presentations as appropriate.


  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years human resources generalist experience, including five+  years of exposure to a multi-state, multi-unit environment; 10+ years leading a large team.
  • PHR/SPHR designation and other advanced relevant certifications advantageous.
  • Experience in foodservice, hospitality, and health care as well as support services preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish capability preferred.
  • Travel up to 50%.
