Tarkett is seeking candidates for a Tarkett Summer Internship to join our successful and growing team in Florence, AL.  Assignments will be challenging and experienced engineers will mentor students in the Tarkett Internship Program. As an intern, you will get exposure to different parts of the Tarkett business and operations. Internship Project Detail:

  • Develop job plans for work orders and PM tasks.
  • Refine bills of material (BOMs) that link spare parts to equipment, using reports and input from the Maintenance Planner.
  • Photograph parts and equipment, and attach to the correct records in CMMS.
  • Organize OEM drawings and manuals.
  • Scrub data in CMMS, standardize descriptions, correct errors, and complete equipment specifications.
  • Kit and issue parts and assist with warehouse labeling.
  • Enter data of work order labor and comments and train an assist others to do so.
  • Develop CMMS reports.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to load and maintain Maintenance Silo content.
  • Special project(s) to study and resolve or understand a maintenance issue (e.g. root cause analysis of a repeat failure, assessment of procedures to improve results, and design work for a MOD).
  • Build schedules for work orders and update work statuses in CMMS.
  • Exposure to best practice reliability methods and training.
  • Learn about lube oil analysis, lubrication science, ultrasound, IR thermography, vibration analysis and other predictive methods as practical for the site.

REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)

  • In process of obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, Industrial Distribution, or related field.
  • Works on projects often requiring independent decision-making. These projects are normally scoped to last between 2 and 6 months in duration, but can last for as long as 2 years.
  • Develops PowerPoint presentations and other graphic presentations to communicate progress, share best practices, or to provide updates.
  • May be asked to analyze data with excel or various other analysis tools
  • May be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars or trainings.
  • Performing assignments where trust and accuracy are required
