Technical Program Manager, Product Management San Francisco About the Position:

As the Technical Program Manager you will have the opportunity to meaningfully impact how our organization scales by first establishing and leading MuleSoft's FedRAMP program and then growing and improve other product programs.  Join industry-leading professionals to ensure that our processes, infrastructure, and product are designed, operated, maintained and protected in accordance with FedRAMP and DOD security standards.  Product Management programs at MuleSoft include Beta and External Validation, Roadmapping and product portfolio management processes, and release readiness.   In this role you will develop and grow product-related program to bring together the Anypoint Platform Roadmap with internal service delivery processes.

Program management duties

  • FedRAMP Build the FedRAMP program plan including risk analysis and mitigation strategies to meet aggressive timelines
    • Track plan of actions and milestones towards implementation
    • Proactively track and recommend alternative approaches for risk mitigation
  • Product Management programs Provide leadership for program matrixed teams;
    • Establish and ensure the company's processes are ready to meet initial assessments and are set up for sustainable, long-term operation
    • Communicate program updates to executive staff, product leadership and field teams
    • Assist MuleSoft teams in their effort to understand and implement accreditation requirements
    • Drive clear decision making required to balance risk, effort and timelines
  • Support ongoing, continuous program efforts by developing and maintaining appropriate information and documentation for compliance with FedRAMP standards

Position deliverables

In 30 days you will

  • Take ownership of current program plan
  • Learn MuleSoft program infrastructure and processes
  • Assess state the current program, evaluate primary risks and gaps  
  • Understand Anypoint Platform products and how the technology is applied in Federal sector

In 60 days we expect you to

  • Update and further define the program objectives and scope
  • Develop initial point of view on the project strategy and update program plan for the next 8-12 months including risk mitigation strategies and resource requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to get feedback and buy-in on program plan

Within 90 days you will be able to

  • Participate and prepare roadmap for FedRAMP roadmap reviews and executive staff briefing
  • Lead effort to address critical gaps (product, process, people)
  • Speak on behalf of MuleSoft about the program to external partners, customers and agencies

About you

  • You have lead a FedRAMP program or similar project for a software company in the last 2 years
  • US Citizenship required
  • Proven ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Not afraid to take calculated risks
  • Not satisfied with status quo - always thinking about how it can be done better
  • Enjoys solving multifaceted problems with large business impact
  • Partners with cross-functional, technically-oriented roles to deliver team goals
  • Thinks about creative ways to apply program management best practices to enable teams to operate more efficiently

PLUS: Experience with and/or direct exposure to applicable laws, regulations, standards and guidance such as FISMA, OMB-A130, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, FIPS, DOD SRG, ISO or FedRAMP
