A Little About Us

At Yahoo search, we serve millions of users every day with the information in the context they need. With a shared passion for technical excellence, we use agile practices and modern technologies to iteratively craft software that we continuously deploy to our users.

A Lot About You

We're looking for a curious engineer who enjoys the challenge and opportunity of building tools and products as we innovate in the extraordinarily wide range of Search use cases. You must be passionate and skilled in front-end software development and interested in developing across the full stack. You'll be a great fit for our team if you embrace the full iterative software development lifecycle: beyond implementing features, you'll conceive them, design systems that scale, write technically excellent code, assure tests are in place, enable continuous deployment through automation, create A/B experiments to iterate effectively, and ensure wicked fast performance.

Your Day

  • Develop software using a variety of client-side and server-side languages and technologies, including React and Node.js
  • Create beautiful interactive charts to enable data driven decisions
  • Design engaging products by collaborating with user experience designers, product managers, and other talented software engineers
  • Participate in a culture of learning through design discussions, code reviews, and mentorship

You Must Have

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Good judgment in object-oriented software design and functional programming
  • Outstanding ability to write clean code
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience developing JavaScript
  • Knowledge of accessibility preferred
